Human Asia, in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of France in the Republic of Korea, the United Nations Human Rights Office in Seoul (OHCHR Seoul Office), and the International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP), will co-host the Conference on the Abolition of the Death Penalty.
This conference will be held ahead of the 9th World Congress Against the Death Penalty, which will take place in Paris, France, from 30 June to 2 July 2026.
The conference will bring together domestic and international experts, representatives of international organizations, and civil society actors to discuss global trends in death penalty abolition and the current situation in the Republic of Korea, while exploring the future of capital punishment from the perspectives of the right to life and human rights.
