On 13 July, Human Asia held the 2026 11th International Model United Nations Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (I-MUN UPR) Training Session at Korea University. The session provided finalists with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and prepare for the final round of the competition.
Professor Mi Hwa Hong from Kookmin University delivered a lecture on the United Nations human rights protection mechanisms, with a particular focus on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), introducing participants to its purpose, process, and significance within the UN human rights system.
Mr. James Heenan, Representative of the UN OHCHR Seoul Office, delivered a lecture on the global human rights situation, highlighting current human rights challenges and the importance of international cooperation in advancing human rights worldwide.
The training session concluded with an orientation and Q&A session, where participants received guidance on the competition procedures, timelines, and preparation for the final round, helping them prepare for the competition ahead.
Human Asia will continue to expand human rights education and foster the next generation of human rights leaders through programs such as the I-MUN UPR.
